Next year for BR1M 4.0, the government would possibly give out RM300 more as the Goods and services tax (GST) will be implemented in April 2015.
The idea of increasing the amount of BR1M 2015 had been suggested to our prime minister in Budget 2014.
Out Deputy Minister of finance, Datuk Ahmad Maslan mentioned a new set of payout that could be RM950, RM750 and RM550.
“The RM300 is kind of a sp ecial assistance following the implementation of the GST next year,”
In the meantime, the GST Acts will be tabled in Parliament in March by second Finance Minister, Datuk Seri Husni Hanadzlah.
“The process is expected to be completed in March so that the sales tax and service (SST) will be repealed by the implementation of GST.
“The abolition of the SST will reduce 5 per cent and 10 per cent of sales tax and also 6 per cent of service tax,” he said.
BR1M said to be a proof of a stable government which helped the people.
